YAMA - Japanese elegance and minimalist philosophy

YAMA is a new Asian fusion restaurant in the heart of Budapest, an experiential, soulful gastronomic experience. YAMA means “on the top of the mountain” in Japanese. To be on top of a mountain is an impulse like no other: a liberating adventure of freedom, experience, joy and wonder like no other.

The YAMA experience is not just about gastronomy. It goes beyond the art of cooking, beyond the sheer totality of ingredients, flavours and preparation methods. The sounds, smells, sights and atmosphere are as much a part of the experience as the food and drink itself.
The perfection of details - The interior design concept is created by Ákos Bara and BAD Design: the design is based on the owners' vision of Japanese elegance and minimalist philosophy. The central feature of the restaurant is a copper lamp installation inspired by Japanese landscape painting and the restaurant's logo.
The interior design of YAMA was prepared with the aim of creating a true community space, suitable for a romantic date, a light conversation with friends, a business meeting or a casual get-together with friends.
